Some things I like about Richmond: I really like how easy it is to get to the James River! There's so much to do - tubing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, or just lounging on the rocks getting some sun. It is also a very dog friendly city here... some places will have free treats for your furry friends! The food scene here is great as well, plenty of variety. My favorite place for happy hour is Rappahannock for fresh oysters. The Boathouse at Rocketts Landing has great food with an amazing view too. There are also a lot of new craft breweries that have recently opened up for the beer lovers. There's also very easy access to the beach or the mountains on a day off!
