Kathryn (Katie) Williams

Medical School: Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine
Undergraduate School: Virginia Commonwealth University
Career interest: Adult psychiatry at the VA
Some things I like about Richmond: I enjoy hiking in Forest Hill Park, hiking around the James, going to farmer's markets and activities on the river


Jamie Fields

Medical School: The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine
Undergraduate School:  University of Virginia's College at Wise
Interests: community MH for persons with chronic mental illness or forensics
Things I like about Richmond: small navigable city with NO traffic and affordable housing! Lots of great restaurants and fun outdoorsy things (if that's what you're into)


Roxanne (Roxy) Sholevar

Undergraduate School: Muhlenberg College, Allentown PA
Career Interests: Psychiatric care of cancer patients, palliative psychiatry
Some things I like about Richmond: Visual art scene, amazing food (coming from a Philly foodie...it's truly spectacular here), ease of living, the people. Richmond is an interesting mix of the Old South and an artsy/punky/gritty feel that reminds me of home.

Some things I like about Richmond: There are a ton of great restaurants and breweries, and it is close to DC, VA beach, and the mountains so there is always something to do.

What I like about RVA - plenty of outdoor things to do, great food, and it's affordable!

Some things I like about Richmond: I love gardening, especially fruits and veggies because it's so rewarding to use them in cooking. I'm a francophile and try to keep up with the language. In the fall, I do as much hiking in the beautiful mountains of Virginia as I can!

Some things I like about Richmond: It’s the perfect “Goldilocks” city! Whether you come from a small town (like me) or a huge city like several of my peers, it’s easy to fall in love with Richmond! Excellent food and craft beer scene, festivals and events all year round, and each neighborhood has its own unique flair

Some things I like about Richmond: Awesome food scene! So many murals! Great parks to walk around with friends or strangers! Around Brown's Island I like looking for the herons that nest/eat close to the James River. It feels like you can be yourself here, whatever that is.

Some things I like about Richmond: Southern manners, diverse people, I can be most places in 20 minutes and when I need to get away, there are so many options that are just a short road trip away: DC, Philly, Va Beach, Williamsburg, even NYC

Career Interests: Inpatient Psychiatry- interested in the schizophrenic patient population. I am also interested in Consult and Liaison psychiatry as well.
Some things I like about Richmond: I am new to the area and still exploring everything Richmond has to offer. There is plenty of things to do outdoors like hiking, kayaking the James River, or exploring the mountains to the west. Richmond also has plenty of interesting restaurants and breweries to check out as well.

Career Interests: I have been drawn to several psychiatric subspecialties, addiction, traumatic brain injury, child and adolescent, and pain management
Some things I like about Richmond: I have loved exploring different restaurants and there is always something fun to do in the city.

Some things I like about Richmond: The Richmond Kickers, Belmont Pizzeria, relatively traffic- free transits, The Byrd Theater, Cappola's Deli.

Kimberly Bowman

Medical School: VCU
Undergraduate School: University of Waterloo 
Career Interest: Undecided. I like women's health as well as geriatrics. 
Some things I like about Richmond: This city is so beautiful! I especially love the spring when everything starts to bloom. We have amazing restaurants, gorgeous parks, and tons of historical sites. I enjoy many outdoor activities with my family including biking along the Capital Trail and exploring the James River.

Some things I like about Richmond: Close to D.C. as well as the beach and mountains for recreation. Kayaking and hiking the James River. History abounds with so much to see nearby.   Vineyards, breweries, great food and culture. Richmond has something for everyone and is a great place to live!

Some things I like about Richmond: the walkability, hipster coffee shops, good food, pretty views

Some things I like about Richmond: I have enjoyed the many running groups, parks, and festivals the city has to offer. In my free time I enjoy exercising and volunteering at the Richmond SPCA.

Career Interest: Women's Mental Health 
Some things I like about Richmond: I feel very at home at VCU and truly enjoy hanging out with my fellow co-interns and residents. I'm from Los Angeles, CA, so the low cost of living is a major plus!  I enjoy how close it is to DC and make frequent weekend trips.  I'm a foodie, and Richmond has some great restaurants, wineries nearby, and festivals all year round!

Some things I like about Richmond: I love the variety of outdoor activities, restaurants and nightlife that Richmond has to offer. Whether you want to spend your day hiking along the James River or trying the newest craft brewery, there is always something to do!

Some things I like about Richmond:  Driving by the main street station clock tower on the way to work, the James River, Belle Isle, parks & restaurants, and the food trucks at VCU!

Career Interests: Academic medicine, Consult/Liaison, Medical Psychiatry, Neuropsychiatry 
Some things I like about Richmond: Richmond has a vibrant live music scene, as well as truly beautiful outdoors spaces both on and off the James River Park System. There also seems to be an amazing new restaurant or craft brewery opening every other week! I also love being involved in the local comedy scene, and after all, humor is a mature defense mechanism.

Some things I like about Richmond: I like that Richmond is a decent sized city with a community feel. The people are really friendly and it is a very diverse community. It has something for everyone including both urban and natural landscapes, outdoors activities, it's a close drive to neighboring cities including Virginia Beach, and most importantly it's got a large variety of unique tastes!
